The total includes all public health interventions, medical services, and logistical operations, according to the study.
The $5.4 million breaks down into three main cost categories: direct medical treatment, public health operations, and economic losses from reduced work output.
The outbreak affected 57 adults and 43 children, with 205 individuals exposed and placed under quarantine, and 133 public health personnel deployed for response, contact tracing, and community education.
