Robb Report's annual list of the world's greatest luxury hotels for 2026 has placed Shinta Mani Mustang in Nepal's Kali Gandaki River Valley at the top. The 29-key property, which requires a five-night minimum stay, is noted for its wellness focus, including individual consultations with a Tibetan medicine doctor and tailor-made programmes using Himalayan plants and traditional practices.
Guests can also enjoy wilderness trekking with routes customised to their ability and experience, as well as visits to local villages. The suites offer views of the 7,000-metre peaks of the Nilgiri mountain range.
In Europe, Hope Lodge in Sutherland, Scotland, a former hunting lodge with seven bedrooms, ranked third overall. Set on a 100,000-acre estate, the lodge offers exclusive use for most of the year and includes access to an adventure centre with wetsuits, paddleboards and bikes. Food is sourced from the estate and local suppliers.
Other European entries in the top 10 include Florence's Collegio alla Querce (sixth), Claridge's in London (seventh), Le Bristol Paris (eighth), and Casa Bonavita in Malta (tenth). The list is compiled from recommendations by Robb Report's 24 travel masters.
The top 10 also includes Singita Kwitonda in Rwanda (second), Islas Secas in Panama (fourth), and other properties not detailed in the report.
