Scott Tixier, a Grammy-affiliated jazz violinist who has recorded with Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, and Elton John, recently sat down with WRR host Amy Bishop for a conversation on KERA Arts.
Tixier is also an associate professor at the University of North Texas College of Music, where he founded the jazz strings program in commercial music, one of the first of its kind. He directs the Jazz Strings Lab Band, which he started in 2018.
During the interview, the French-born musician discussed his journey to music, France's fascination with Dallas, and his latest musical projects.
