Four Vancouver Island beaches have been named among the top 10 in Canada, according to a study by Spin Casino that analyzed visitor ratings and reviews on TripAdvisor.
Chesterman Beach in Tofino was named Canada's top beach for 2026, with the highest number of four- and five-star ratings and 37 per cent of reviews describing it as 'beautiful'. It also earned the top spot for 'romantic' mentions.
Rathrevor Beach Provincial Park in Parksville held its third-place ranking from last year. The beach, which stretches nearly 1.5 kilometres at low tide, received 94 per cent of reviews with four stars or more and had the highest number of mentions of peacefulness.
Long Beach in Tofino ranked fourth, and Schooner Cove, also in Tofino, came in tenth. Sandbanks Provincial Park in Picton, Ont., placed second, and Cavendish Beach in Prince Edward Island was the only beach outside B.C. and Ontario to make the list, at fifth.
The study analyzed 50 beaches across seven provinces with coastlines, assigning an index score out of 500 based on ratings and mentions of 'beautiful', 'clean', 'peaceful', and 'romantic'.
