Mobile coffee trailer Sippin' Sweets debuts in Westport

Westport resident Sarah Santos launches Sippin' Sweets Latte Bar, a mobile coffee trailer serving specialty lattes and matcha at two Westport locations.

A new mobile coffee trailer has rolled into the SouthCoast. Sippin' Sweets Latte Bar, owned by 20-year-old Westport resident Sarah Santos, began a soft opening in late June at Westport Village Commons, 760 Main Road, in the same plaza as Village Pizza and Ice Cream.

Santos, a nursing student, has been planning the venture for two years. She said she has always dreamed of opening a café or food truck and chose the mobile model as a test run for a future brick-and-mortar café.

The menu focuses on specialty lattes and matcha, with bagels and muffins. Latte mainstays include Cinnamon Bun, Cosmo Brownie, Strawberry Shortcake, and the top seller, Biscoff Butter. Santos's personal favorite is strawberry matcha. Weekly specials have included a Red Velvet Latte and a Pastel de Nata Latte topped with a Portuguese custard pastry.

Santos makes all syrups in-house using clean, organic ingredients. Prep work is done at a commercial kitchen at Dartmouth Grange. The trailer also pops up at Westport Dog, 855 Main Road, with plans to expand to Dartmouth, Tiverton, and Bristol, Rhode Island.

Sippin' Sweets is open two to three days a week, weather permitting, with hours posted on Facebook and Instagram. Santos plans to pause during school but hopes to operate on weekends and at local events. Her end goal is to open a permanent café.
